Jacksonville, Alabama --- As the world waits to hear Ed Moore III's farewell tonight, in what will be his last radio broadcast, the Birmingham native says his three years with the station has improved his life.

Moore announced December 11 that he would be stepping down from WLJS on January 1 to launch the Justice and Civil Rights Initiative, a civil and human rights group in Jacksonville, Alabama. He says he will serve as president of the group.

His statement below:

"This job has given me something to live for each and every day. It has blessed me with some of the greatest colleagues, friendships and mentors any human being could possibly ask for. I see now, more than ever, the level of importance this line of work brings to the field of change. I see its dedication to humanity and progress. As I depart this chapter of my life to enter civil and human rights work, I leave you with one thought. 'What is your purpose and what must you do to achieve it?' I'll see you tonight."

Moore will host his final broadcast, Ed Moore III: A Final Farewell, tonight at 8:30 P.M. CST / 9:30 P.M Eastern Time. Northeast Alabama listeners may tune into 91.9 FM.

The broadcast will stream live worldwide online at www.wljsnews.weebly.com.
